Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy Program
Victory Ranch offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) sessions. EAP uses experiential learning. Experiential learning means learning by doing. Staff members are certified EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth & Learning Association) specialists. The EAGALA Model is a standard for conducting EAP that uses a team of qualified mental health/clinical professionals and qualified equine specialist professionals. EAGALA sessions are done on the ground with horses; no mounted work is involved.
EAP can be powerfully effective in helping patients break through hidden defensive barriers and provide fresh perspectives for clients. EAP sessions can clarify real-life situations and identify patterns, then help participants work through them. Horses are masters at relationships. They are experts at non-verbal communication and reading our body language. Horses don’t lie; they don’t separate how they feel from how they act.
We welcome children and their parents, adults, couples, groups and families to our programs.
